About this course
God’s story the Bible is full of children but sometimes we need to help to identify their presence in the stories and understand what this says about how God sees them and how we therefore should respond. This modules introduces some of the different perspectives on children that can be found in the Bible and explores how these might have an impact on what churches do and say when it comes to engaging with them. Understanding some of these perspectives and where they come from will help us to shape our mission and ministry with children, perhaps challenging unhelpful views that stifle a child’s discipleship. It will also help us to use the Bible better as we seek to nurture the faith of the children we are engaging with. This module gives an overview of how children change and develop as they get older and introduces faith formation theory. As we understand better how they think and interact with the world and its creator so we can better enhance their relationships and wellbeing.About Children's Ministry Essentials
