Frequently Asked Questions

We have tried to make this course accessible to everyone but if you have any concerns about any aspect of your learning experience, please get in touch via training@taketime.org.uk and we will try to help.

We think this course will take you approximately 4-5 hours to complete.

It’s entirely up to you, the learner, to decide how long you spend with the content in each chapter. There’s no one way to complete this course. For example, some learners might skim through each chapter quickly – reading content, picking out what they need and moving on. Others will spend more time in each chapter.

No. The course is very flexible. You could start on any day of the week. You do however have to complete the course within seven days from the start date. If you experience any issues during these seven days which prevents you from completing the course, let us know via training@taketime.org.uk and we will try to move you to a later course.

No, not unless you want to. The course will save your progress and responses automatically and you can stop and start as you wish. You could, for example, do one hour every night or three hours one day and three hours a few days later.

No. The course is available 24/7 so you can work on it whenever suits you. You may not get a response immediately after you post a question in one of the discussion forums but by the time you look next time, you should have received a reply.

You will be working with other students on the same course but at your own pace. There are three discussion forums in the course where you can interact with other students and your tutors if you wish but there is no synchronous participation.

In Module 4 we ask that you practice your meditation delivery to someone. This could be someone in your household or someone from the course and it can be done face to face or online via an application such as Zoom or Facetime. You might want to organise this before the course starts.

If you are looking to train a number of people from the same church or Christian organisation at the same time, email us at training@taketime.org.uk and we can look at scheduling a separate, closed course.

If, on completion of this course, you wish to run an Approved Taketime Together Group and/or to download and use up to 50 Taketime Meditation scripts and MP3 files a year, you will need to purchase an annual licence of £36.00. This licence allows you to use the Taketime scripts and MP3 files in public for one year from the date of purchase. This also allows you to advertise your group(s) on the Taketime website and receive support from the Taketime team. Supporting Taketime in this way provides essential funding, enabling Taketime to continue.

The basic concept of Taketime is very simple but due to the evolving nature of Taketime, all Taketime Practitioners are required to attend a refresher course at least once every two years. This course is offered to existing Practitioners at half the usual cost.
