About this course
One of the main reasons why children stop coming to church as soon as they are able is because they are often not encouraged to participate from a young age. Perhaps this is because there is a residual culture that believes that ‘children should be seen and not heard’ or that you can’t be a person of faith until you are old enough to ‘understand’ everything.
Children’s ministry is sometimes seen as something that is done ‘to’ rather than ‘with’ children, this module helps us to change that. It helps us consider what healthy participation looks like, and provides tools to facilitate participation that is authentic rather than tokenistic
