Welcome to Methodist ethics!
I hope that this will be an enjoyable and challenging course for all of you. My aim is to make you think about the theological presuppositions that lie beneath and shape our ethical decision making. In particular I want us to think about what it means to do our ethics in a way that is shaped by the Methodist tradition. I trust that as a result of this course you will think through your own ethical positions theologically, that you will have the courage to re-evaluate and change them when you find them them to be theologically inadequate and be challenged to develop ethical responses that are rooted in the Methodist tradition and relevant to our contemporary context.
